Site and handling conditions

3 ton chain hoist with trolley

A 3 ton chain hoist with trolley changes the building more than a hook-hung replacement. Beam flange width, trolley type, end stops and remaining headroom belong in the RFQ before factories price a travelling unit. This page translates plant conditions into purchase requirements. It does not survey your building or approve a beam.

Conditions that rewrite the specification

Aisle width

Narrow aisles limit trolley travel and hook swing. State aisle width and the load envelope, not only the hoist tonnage.

Beam and flange

Plain, geared or motorized trolleys need the beam size. A quote that omits trolley hardware is not the same machine.

Headroom

Low roofs force low-headroom bodies. Measure hook-to-beam and lowered height instead of assuming a catalogue picture.

Power drop location

Festoon or conductor bar is site work. Keep it off the equipment line unless you ask the factory to include it.

Procurement situations, not case studies

The cards below are labelled situations used to write an RFQ. They are not completed projects, named customers or savings results.

Return to inquiry options when you only need the family name, or use the contact form when beam data is ready. The units note is here.

Put trolley constraints on the RFQ

Write beam size, travel length, end-stop responsibility and whether power feed is included. We then ask factories to quote that travelling package or to exclude it in writing.
